Head of '17 US intelligence agencies' James Clapper was hacked by a US teen in Jan. 2016. Director of National Intelligence Clapper had taken no steps to keep his phone number or home address hidden, both found in Google search. In 2015, the teen's group, Crackas With Attitude (CWA), also took over CIA Dir. Brennan's personal email account-ComputerWorld, BBC, Jan. 2016

As of Jan. 2016, James "Clapper (Director of National Intelligence) had taken no steps to keep his phone number or home address hidden as both can reportedly be found via a simple Google search. That’s “insane” according to information security expert Michael Adams; he told Motherboard, “If I’m the Director of National Intelligence of the United States of America nobody is going to know where the [bleep] I live, nobody is going to have my [bleep] phone number or address.”" In 2015, "one of the CWA hackers originally dubbed a teenage stoner – took control of CIA Director John Brennan’s personal email account."

"Hackers flying under the banner of Crackas With Attitude took over Director of National Intelligence James Clapper's Verizon My FiOS account and forwarded all his calls to the Free Palestine Movement."

"If you were Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and confused colleagues inquire as to why they keep reaching the wrong number when they try to call you, then it would have to be embarrassing to explain that hackers had taken over your Verizon My FiOS account and all your calls are being forwarded to the Free Palestine Movement.

Social engineering is apparently no less effective for a group of hackers flying under the banner of Crackas With Attitude (CWA) than it has been in the past when Cracka – one of the CWA hackers originally dubbed a teenage stoner – took control of CIA Director John Brennan’s personal email account.

This time, “Cracka” told Motherboard’s Lorenzo Franceschi-Bicchierai that CWA had taken control of "a series of accounts connected to Clapper, including his home telephone and internet, his personal email, and his wife’s Yahoo email. While in control of Clapper’s Verizon FiOS account, Cracka claimed to have changed the settings so that every call to his house number would get forwarded to the Free Palestine Movement.” CWA is aligned with the #FreePalestine movement.

Cracka claimed the group was “pretty sure” Clapper didn’t know he’d been hacked, but a spokesman for Clapper, Brian Hale, said the Office of the Director of National Intelligence was “aware of the matter and reported it to the appropriate authorities.”"...

[Ed. note: Where are you finding "appropriate authorities" when even the top US official on computer safety isn't an "authority"?]

(continuing): "After Cracka handed over Clapper’s home number to Motherboard and Franceschi-Bicchierai called it, Paul Larudee, the co-founder of the Free Palestine Movement, answered. Larudee confirmed that he had been getting calls by people trying to call Clapper.

Clapper had taken no steps to keep his phone number or home address hidden as both can reportedly be found via a simple Google search. That’s “insane” according to information security expert Michael Adams; he told Motherboard, “If I’m the Director of National Intelligence of the United States of America nobody is going to know where the [bleep] I live, nobody is going to have my [bleep] phone number or address.”

CWA also provided Motherboard with a phone number allegedly belonging to Clapper’s wife, screenshots of their Verizon FiOS account, her Yahoo account, and a list of call logs to Clapper’s home number, including Vonna Heaton, a former senior executive at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. She seemed shocked to receive a call from a journalist and politely ended the call.

Cracka, using a different Twitter account this time, taunted various agencies in the U.S. intelligence community, but that’s not surprising since most of the agencies are already on the long list of CWA’s enemies.

Besides previously targeting CIA Director John Brennan, Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson, White House Deputy National Security Advisor Avril Haines, and FBI Deputy Director Mark Giuliana, CWA claimed to have gained access to the national Joint Automated Booking System (JABS), a database of arrest records, the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center, and the FBI's Virtual Command Center. After CWA dumped personal details of 2,400 government employees, the Internet Crime Complaint Center warned police and public officials of an increased risk of being the target of cyber-attacks and doxing." 1/13/2016, "Hacker hits US spy chief James Clapper's personal accounts," BBC

"The US director of national intelligence has had several of his personal online accounts hacked, his office has confirmed.

A spokesman said the matter had been "reported to the appropriate authorities", but declined to say more.

As director of national intelligence, James Clapper serves as a key adviser to the US president on security matters including cyberthreats.

It follows a similar cyber-attack on the CIA's director (Brennan) in October.

The Motherboard news site reported on Tuesday that it had been contacted by a young hacker who had claimed responsibility. Motherboard reported the teenager had said he was part of the same group - Crackas With Attitude (CWA) - behind the earlier breach.

The youth said he had broken into Mr Clapper's personal email, his Verizon phone and internet account settings and a Yahoo email account belonging to Mr Clapper's wife.

The BBC understands that Mr Clapper's office has only seen evidence that the hacker actually accessed Sue Clapper's email and the couple's family phone number.

It appears that the teenager altered the phone number's settings so that calls were rerouted to a spokesman for the Free Palestine Movement, a cause the CWA says it supports.

Motherboard said the hacker had also passed on what he claimed was a log of home calls Mr Clapper had recently made and received."...

Added: FACT CHECKING the Fact Checkers re: Hillary's claim that "17 US intelligence agencies" agree the Russian government is hacking US computers "to influence our election" and Trump should admit it. ABC News says it;s "true" even though it admits it wasn't 17 agencies and was just one person (Clapper) who "oversees" 17 agencies, and he only said the community was "confident" the Russian government was interfering to influence US elections. He never said he had "confirmation" or proof for the inflammatory accusation.

This is a particularly bloody lie because it combines two agendas into one--the election and war with Russia. The neocons have never been right about anything yet they're running the US. The neocon endless war machine can only make money by taking it from US taxpayers. Media are needed to inflame American voters so they'll accept "regime change"--this time in Russia.

Why is it acceptable for ABC News, NY Times, and other media outlets to influence elections (and endless wars) and not acceptable for a foreign country to do so?

ABC News and NY Times say Hillary's claim of Russian interference confirmed by 17 agencies is "True" or "Mostly right," though 17 agencies ends up being one person, James Clapper, "Director of National Intelligence," whose job is to say what Obama wants him to say. Since Obama will be out of office in January, who benefits from using the 2016 election--when public emotion and attention are highest--to building sentiment among the American people for war with Russia? Answer: The people who put Obama in office and the people who are trying to put Hillary in office. In two words, our slave masters.

"Glenn Greenwald exhaustively back-traced where the ‘Russia-hacked-the-election’ meme came from and that it was pure spin. The original author who set the entire farce in motion later admitted it was all a mistake, and in his own ‘Mea Culpa’ revealed that according to the subtext of extensive emails from a Newsweek reporter pressuring him to allow the lie to live, it was US intelligence agencies pushing to spread this narrative."

James Clapper has never said he knew for a fact that Russia was interfering. Yet, media "fact checkers" immediately said Hillary's incendiary claim was "true" or "mostly right." (Clapper himself was hacked by a US teen in Jan. 2016 per articles posted above. Obviously, the highest ranking computer security official in the US government has no credibility on the subject of computer security to begin with).

ABC News seeks to influence an election and inflame the American people by claiming false accusations are "true": "17 of our intelligence agencies have confirmed" that  on orders of "Putin himself" the Russian government has hacked US computers "to influence our election" and has given the information to Wikileaks to hand  out:

Oct. 20, 2016, "The "Fact" That 17 Intelligence Agencies Confirmed Russia is Behind the Email Hacks Isn’t Actually…A "Fact"," Zero Hedge,
Submitted by Mark Jeftovic via Rebooting Capitalism

"Briefly, because I’m trying to get some work done instead expending energy on this horrific, disgusting election cycle…

In last night’s debate Clinton stated that “17 intelligence agencies have confirmed that Russia is behind the email hacks” which were then turned over to Wikileaks.

Nevermind that the mainstream media and the elites are very selective about when to condemn hacked document dumps. As I wrote yesterday before the debate:
It is interesting to note the difference in the treatment of email dumps based on whether it criticizes or supports the Establishment.

In the Panama Papers, hacked emails revealed mass tax avoidance schemes executed primarily by non-insulated political outsiders. Obama deemed it “important stuff” and called for international tax reform in the wake of the revelations contained therein.

But when the Podesta emails reveal ongoing, systemic, baked-in wrong-doing on the part of anointed political favourites, the bogeyman of “Russian state-sponsored hackers” is trotted out, hell-bent on throwing the election and Obama (as per the aforementioned quote) starts talking about “folks needing some kinda Ministry of Truthiness”.
As I also covered yesterday, Glenn Greenwald exhaustively back-traced where the ‘Russia-hacked-the-election’ meme came from and that it was pure spin. The original author who set the entire farce in motion later admitted it was all a mistake, and in his own ‘Mea Culpa’ revealed that according to the subtext of extensive emails from a Newsweek reporter pressuring him to allow the lie to live, it was US intelligence agencies pushing to spread this narrative.

The “17 agencies that actually confirmed” it was the Russians? Well it turns out that was one guy, namely DCI James Clapper: the head of US intelligence. The same man who committed perjury before congress after his NSA surveillance program was leaked. He issued a statement that included the phrase:

"We believe, based on the scope and sensitivity of these efforts, that only Russia’s senior-most officials could have authorized these activities."

The very next sentence is also of interest:

"Some states have also recently seen scanning and probing of their election-related systems, which in most cases originated from servers operated by a Russian company. However, we are not now in a position to attribute this activity to the Russian Government."

The word “confirmed” does not appear anywhere in this statement.

So when HRC stated the “17 intelligence agencies have confirmed” I was anticipating what that would turn up in the “fact checking” apparatus, which allegedly exists to objectively test the assertions of both candidates in real time.

The “fact checking” around this statement would be comical if not infuriatingly Orwellian: ABC called it “a true fact:”

The New York Times fact check on this debate, at first glance would lead one to believe all the lies and misdirection to be coming from one side of the the podiums, Trump’s.

But they did not even touch Clinton’s “17 intelligence agencies have confirmed” statement, instead they took an accusation by Clinton, leveled at Trump, dressed it up as a “fact” (by it’s inclusion in the NYT’s edition of the “Debate Fact Checks”), and ceremoniously blessed it as “True”:

Again, the media narrative around all this is now completely oblivious to the actual content of those leaks. Including that the Democrats staged anti-Trump rallies which has since been corroborated by the fact that Dems employed paid agents provocateurs at Trump rallies to incite violence.

The media gave a previous administration a free pass when they started a war in Iraq based on a lie (one that was also presumably “confirmed” by intelligence agencies). Now they are full-on complicit in this one as the US gears up for a cyberwar with Russia over another lie."
