Retraction Watch co-founder Ivan Oransky on WNYC radio Leonard Lopate show, Wed., June 10, 2015, audio

June 10, 2015, "Why Wasn't A Fraudulent Study Published by Science Caught Sooner?" WNYC radio (NY City, NPR affiliate), Leonard Lopate Show (12n-2p daily)

"In light of Science’s recent retraction of a study about the persuasiveness of gay political canvassers in California, Ivan Oransky, Professor at NYU's Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute and co-founder of Retraction Watch, discusses the scientific and journalistic climate that leads to headline-making retractions. He’ll discuss the flaws of the peer review process, the frequent lack of replication before certain studies are published, and how the media frequently relies on big studies to garner attention, leading to large-scale retraction.

Guests: Ivan Oransky"

Comment: Dr. Oransky said publications don't always make clear to readers that a study has been retracted. Sometimes they make no mention of it at all. If I can find a transcript of the interview I'll post it.
